ReLMS: Receptive Language in Minimally Speaking autistic children and adolescents

While 25-30% of children and adolescents on the autism spectrum have little or no spoken language, researchers and clinicians do not have a valid and reliable way to evaluate how much language they comprehend. Through Project ReLMS, we are developing a new method to evaluate receptive language in minimally speaking autistic children and adolescents which is designed to meet their communication needs and highlight their strengths. The results of this project will help researchers, clinicians and families improve communication supports.
